I’m loving the current trend of using practical everyday items and turning them into light fixtures. Especially kitchen items, they give off an automatic vintage vibe.
As long as there is an opening or the item can be drilled through, it can become a light fixture!
I was eyeballing these colanders at my local discount store.
I have seen these colander light fixtures all over Pinterest and thought I could easily make them (by “I”, I mean my husband Bob). So we purchased a couple of colanders. The next step was going to Home Depot and purchasing the light pendant attachment.
Bob used a drill bit meant for creating holes. You want to find a hole drill bit that is about the same size as your pendant light, maybe just a bit larger. Drill the hole in the center of the bottom of the colander. Add your pendant light and it is that simple.
I plan on making more. And I may even paint one or two. If you would like to order a specific color or have any questions, just comment below or contact us.
