Apartment Therapy Feature
We don’t usually post anything on Sundays but I have a little story to tell so I thought “hey, why not?”…
Last week I submitted Karen’s birdcage project to Apartment Therapy.
Apartment Therapy’s mission is “Helping people make their homes more beautiful, organized and healthy by connecting them to a wealth of resources, ideas and community online.”
For those of you that don’t know, Apartment Therapy is HUGE in the home decor website world!
Their social media stats:
Twitter: 111,000+ Facebook: 188,000+ Pinterest: 186,000+
Readership and page view stats for all of their media:
10 million monthly readers and 37 million page views!
I knew readership like this would give our little blog a boost. So when I submitted the birdcage project I had my fingers crossed.
Two days later I heard back from one of their Project Coordinators and I was excited to say the least.
On Thursday we were featured in their “BEFORE AND AFTER” Section. Click here to see the Apartment Therapy post!
Our stats skyrocketed! And the international views amazed me too (this is only a portion of them)!
Karen and I both feel a sense of accomplishment when things like this happen. But what made it even better… the comments people shared below the Apartment Therapy Post:
“Clever and adorable!”
“Fantastic and unexpected reuse!!”
“There are folks that are imaginative, then there this…SO CLEVER!”
“Absolutely inspired.”
“Love it, and like others have said it wasn’t what I was expecting at all. Beautiful.”
Probably our favorite posted by “hmr”:
“jaw…
floor…
stunning…”
This one made me chuckle…
“Very cute, and still, I cannot look at a used birdcage without thinking of bird poop.”
I made sure Karen read those comments. It’s Karen’s creativity that usually brings us so much attention. And she deserves it!
Happy Salvaging! -Kathy
P.S. Tomorrow’s post is a refurbished enamel top rolling cart…you’ll want to see the transformation 🙂
