Mid-century modern furniture is trending for 2015 home décor.
Mid–century furniture is a term usually applied to a furniture style developed in the early 20th century but that was adapted and gained worldwide attention after World War II. Also referred to as modern furniture, the most celebrated of mid–century furniture styles was a simple design option known as Danish modern.
Mid-century furniture became popular for its clean lines—opposite of the heavy, dark and carved furniture of the previous era.
Karen and I are both fond of the this style so when Karen spotted a pair of mid-century chairs, we both agreed we must have them for the Boutique.
Karen refurbished a little stool a few months ago with this cool retro circle fabric.
The fabric was also perfect for these Jasper (Indiana) Chair Company mid-century lounge / arm chairs.
Karen reupholstered the original seats with the leftover fabric. We normally remove the old upholstery, but because the original vinyl was in good condition, Karen chose to simply cover it with the new fabric. This will allow the next owner of the chairs to reveal the original fabric if they choose.
The wood isn’t in perfect condition, but considering the age of the chairs, it looks great and is way too handsome to paint.
We currently have these chairs listed in our Etsy shop. We are willing to accept a reasonable offer if someone in the Cleveland area is interested. Just contact us, or let us know if you would like to see the chairs first!
