How many cabinets will it cover
Hi Madeline, thank you for asking this question! It’s hard to give a number since cabinets are all different sizes but a quart will cover approximately 160 square feet. Some colors will take 2 coats and others (like the whites) might take 3 coats. We hope this helps!
I am planning on using the enamel paint on a dresser. Can I still slightly distress the dresser with this paint?
Hi Shelly! We answered your question on another post but just in case someone else is wondering the same thing we’d like to answer here too. This is how we responded: It is possible but it’s a little more challenging to distress. Wise Owl’s chalk synthesis paint is what we recommend if you’d like to distress.

Thank you for your response. If I use the synthesis white paint, what varnish would I use? I want to paint an old dresser for my daughter-in-law to use in a baby’s room. I have used American General before, but they don’t recommend it be used on white because it might turn yellow.

We recommend using Shellac to spray the entire piece and/or priming with Wise Owl’s stain blocking primer twice (this is to keep the stain from seeping through), then paint then varnish. White can be challenging and there are never any guarantees so tend to test one area first.
Can the enamel be sponged on to create a granite effect on counters? Does their primer come in black? Thank you
Hi Carolyn, thanks for asking! Yes, the enamel can be sponged on for a decorative finish/effect. The primer is currently available in white and clear but they do plan on releasing a grey primer sometime soon – we don’t have a date yet.
I’d like to spray the paint. What is the best way to thin it? Can you use Floetrol or do you recommend water? Also, are the samples shown applied with a brush or a sprayer? Thank You.
Hi Kristel, the samples in the photos are sprayed. Wise Owl actually doesn’t recommend thinning the Enamel paint when spraying but if you find you do need to thin it (depending on the sprayer you use) they say not to thin it by more than 10%. Thanks for asking and we’re happy to answer more questions if you have them!
Gray Linen is my favorite!
These enamels from Wise Owl are gorgeous, I love “Abyss”! Perfect for kitchen cabinets, thanks for sharing.
