We learned at a young age how to reuse and renew furniture and other household items. This gift was passed along to us by our mom who moved to the United States from Puerto Rico with little to nothing.
Growing up, Mamita taught us that living in poverty was no excuse for poor design or lack of style. Our lives have changed since then but Mamita’s message remains.

We have a true passion and appreciation for flea markets, thrift stores, antiques/vintage, and even the occasional garbage picking. Yes, we said garbage picking. What’s that saying? One man’s trash is another man’s treasure? We apply that here.
What started as a DIY blog in 2013 and within 18 months we grew out of our homes and into a brick and mortar home decor boutique in Lakewood, Ohio.
Our own design styles are different, but we appreciate them all: Traditional, Modern, Industrial, Minimalist, Retro, Rustic, Victorian—there’s something for everyone. Mamita’s cottage is Shabby Chic and Victorian, Karen’s style is Traditional and Farmhouse and my (Kathy’s) style is a bit more Modern, Rustic and Minimal. In each of our homes, you’ll find old as well as new home decor. So it only makes sense that our shop reflects that too.
